Powering Generations
What Is Biogas?
Biogas itself is gas mixture consisting of approximately 60% methane, and the remainder containers carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulphide, moisture and siloxanes. It contains less methane than natural gas, which consists of approximately 94%.
Biogas is naturally produced and released into the environment by the decomposition of organic matter such as fruit and vegetable waste, animal faeces and dead animals.
What is Pongamia?
A subtropical legume, commonly planted around the world, that fixes nitrogen, sequesters carbon, and is climate-change adaptive.
- Native to Asia and Far North Queensland.- Legume family.- 5Mt + of seeds produced in India and Sri Lanka PA.- 8-years to reach maturity @ 60 kg PA of seeds per tree.- Drought, flood and salt tolerant.- Seeds harvested similarly to Almonds- Tree production life 25+ years- Nitrogen fixing for improved soil health.
What is Power to X
Power-to-X is the process of turning electricity (power) into sustainable green products (the “X”).
The electricity for this process is renewable power from solar panels, wind turbines, etc., and the output is a variety of clean fuels (e-fuels) , green fertilisers and chemicals.
